What the product delivers

A practical document management layer on top of standard Business Central attachments.

Upload and metadata capture

The attachment factbox is extended with a dropzone control that supports drag-and-drop, click upload, multi-file selection, chunked transfer for large files, and server-side validation of size and allowed extensions. A metadata dialog appears during upload and can also be triggered for standard Business Central uploads.

Versioning and latest-version logic

Documents with the same name can be handled as versions inside the standard attachment table. DocZone 365 stores version numbers, marks the latest version, can hide old versions in the factbox, and includes rebuild and repair logic for version flags.

Search, OCR, and lifecycle control

Users can search documents across file names and metadata, mass-update selected attachments, send selected files by email, review OCR text, and monitor due dates or expirations with optional email reminders and automatic deletion of expired documents.

Built on standard Business Central storage

DocZone 365 does not replace the standard attachment concept. It extends the existing Document Attachment experience with more structure, automation, and discoverability.

Optional external OCR service

OCR text extraction requires an externally reachable Apache Tika server over HTTPS and appropriate HttpClient permission for the extension in Business Central.
